Energent Moving to the University of Waterloo Accelerator Centre
Waterloo, ON, 19-April-06 - Energent announced today they will re-locate their office from its current location on Frobisher Drive in North Waterloo to the newly constructed Accelerator Center, located in the University of Waterloo Research and Technology Park. Energent will be the third tenant to locate in the Accelerator Center. Their move will be effective as of April 27, 2006.
The Accelerator Centre (AC) is a key feature of the UW Research & Technology Park. It is a unique facility, intended to act as a catalyst for the growth of its high-tech tenant firms. To accomplish this goal, AC tenants are provided access to a broad range of shared administrative and business services including access to common meeting rooms, community networking events, relevant management consultation, and investor matchmaking.
Energent believes their new location in the Accelerator Centre will provide other ancillary benefits to their business. Energent VP & Director of R&D Gordon Ellis stated "The Accelerator Centre is a world-class facility. As our company continues to grow, our location here will be one factor enabling us to attract top-notch personnel. Not only is the facility aesthetically pleasing and situated next to Columbia Lake trails, but it is located in the heart of Waterloo's technology hub. The residual effects will be significant."
The Research and Technology Park is a $214 million partnership of the University of Waterloo, the Region of Waterloo, the City of Waterloo, the Province of Ontario, the Government of Canada, Communitech, and Canada's Technology Triangle. With over 1.2 million square feet of office space, the Park is located on 120-acres of the University's North campus.
