Public utilities offer incentive payments to encourage energy consumers to curtail (postpone or eliminate) their use of electricity during periods of peak demand. In addition to these incentive payments, participants save money by purchasing electricity from the grid during off-peak periods when the price is naturally low.

As the interface between the participating client and the public utility, EnergentDR automates all the communication and administrative tasks required for participation. Clients simply accept or decline an opportunity, after being notified by email, take the appropriate action to eliminate their load, and cash a cheque at the end of each month.
